Ola pessoal! I'm a young architect, 24 years old from Milan, Italy. I really love travelling and I lived for ten months in Coimbra, Portugal, two years ago. ERASMUS programme. Yeah, that was great!
I speak english, português and español. Would love some friends from other countries to chat with!

One month in Uganda

Volunteering in the parish mission of Kitanga (Kabale), south-western part of the country, close to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda's borders.

Uganda's population is estimated at 31 million, 50% of whom are under the age of 14.

Emerging from the devastation of the civil war in the 1970s and 1980s, Uganda has made significant steps in economic and social development, yet still contends with major challenges to improve health and education services as well as food security.

In the fight against HIV/AIDS, Uganda is earning international recognition for its achievements; however, the epidemic has left an estimated 2.1 million orphaned children in its wake and remains a serious threat to the country's youth.

In the catholic parish mission of Kitanga, 50km from Kabale, in the south western part of Uganda, Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda continues his struggle to provide care and comfort for the sick and secure the basic rights to food, shelter, medicine and education for its children.

Greece

Ola pessoal! Summer holidays in Greece.

Crazy tour in ATHENS with Teo, our special guide (so nice to see you again, mate!), 24h from the Akropoli and the center to the worst neighborhoods (in other words, the “slums”, but I realized that in Canada they don’t know what it means...).

Said bye to Teo, we sailed from Piraeus for PAROS. We spent 3 days there. Nice island, pretty cheap, but only Greeks and people quite young.

Then 3 days in MYKONOS. Nice beaches, good night life, quite transgressive, but definetely posh and expensive. Not many Greeks, but clubs crowded of Italians of the worst race, the original “tamarri” (i.e. rough guys). Buaaaah!

8 days in IOS. Fear and loathing.

“They say I was in Ios, but I can’t remember…”AHAHAHAH! Great! Hard night life for ironmen only, with shots at 1 euro each, cocktails 2 and 50 and crazy clubs! Fattened up with souvlaki (the popular Greek fast food, just 2 euro!), Ios was definetely the cheapest island and the best! For sure! Fucked up every night and I got sick the last days. MALAKA!

Holidays at the end. 30h to go back. We spent one afternoon in SANTORINI, just to take some pics, one night on a boat, from Santorini to Pireaus, sleeping on a sofa in a fuckin free smoking area (I was sick…) and the flight from Athens to Milan via Wien.

Wonderful Greece. Beautiful landscapes and really good time. A great special thanks to Teo, so nice and kind with all of us. Simply great to meet you again! Abraço!

Coimbra nel cuore

Paura e delirio a Coimbra. Fear and loathing in Coimbra.

SAUDADE, SAUDADE e SAUDADE!

O dia seguinte pra a minha velha casa. O momento mais incrível... Vì a Dona Rosa e o grande Dj Boneco. Logo à noite no Queimodromo.

Valdo!

Ainda dia a subir e baixar pra Coimbra e logo pequeno passeio sozinho pra o Polo II a tirar fotos. Louca jantar italiana no... não me lembro e logo pra o Queimodromo.

Ultimo dia. D-DAY, dia do cortejo.

Briooosaaa!

Dublin | photos

Easter holiday in Dublin.
City very small, quite nice, but actually I expected something more "irish"... Weather pretty cold, but very sunny and young irish girls quite undressed. And what about the famous irish cliffs? Well, actually I saw better sea cliffs in Algarve! Forçaaa Portugaaal!

China: Shànghăi and Bĕijīng | photos

Greeeaaat! Simply greeeaaat!
Here the pictures from my last travel in China!
Mission's target: rescue Chen Hui.
Hehehehe! No, I'm kidding! The purpose was a workshop at Bĕijīng’s university!

I spent 2 nights in Shànghăi and 8 in Bĕijīng (formerly known in english as Peking or also Peiking). Well, Shànghai is an incredible city! So huge, crowded of skyscrapers with so strange shapes and lights that make it looks like an unreal city, something come out from a parallel future... It seems Blade Runner! Two nights whose one at the Martini's Bar! Great birthaday party of an unknown “Miguel from Ecuador” in a small kind of disco very very POSH, crowded of models and only good-looking guys, and we... We like poor people getting drunk with the cocktails stolen from the other tables… Woooaaah! And then Cabi and me lost and really stoned in Shànghăi, trying to find the way to the hotel and our plane for Bĕijīng leaving just 4 hours later…
Friday night @ Martini’s Bar, Shànghăi. What a night…
Then in Bĕijīng (so cold!! -10°C at night...) at the Tsinghua University for the workshop in Housing Design, a week working hard with our chinese mates so nice, but also the trips to the Forbidden City, Heaven’s Temple and the Great Wall and the great dinners with the mates and the professors (espacially the last one for the workshop's closure)!

The travel, the workshop, the people… Simply greeeaaat!

I think after two too quite months spent at home I was completely "back to life" just that night at the beginning of october at Lorenzo's columns in Milan with Gerry, RosseLHa queen of lemons and... Kathrineee! Wooow! That was what a "great night" really means... I really had a great time as was a while I didn't have and the day after I woke up -yeah, for sure pretty stoned!- so happy and with a great smile on my face as was time it didn't happen and feelin' that I had definitely recharged my batteries... Wooow! Well guys, really thanks!
Michele-completely-charged!
And then Leire here and in Venice at Martina's home founding Esti and her spanish party and really feeling back to Erasmus again... Greaaat! Simply greaaat! And also the surprise in meeting Davide and his friend, old Coimbra's glories, walking in Venice!

Wooow! Great month and... Saudade do Erasmus!

Here the photos!

Agosto italiano | photos

Hi pessoal!! How's going, guys??
Back to Italy at the end of july, here you are the pictures from my "agosto italiano"... Some photos from my 24h in Vedeseta, a really small village between mountains, more or less closed to Milan, and photos from Salento, a very nice region in the south of Italy (it's precisely at the end of the heel) where I spent a week! Then various pictures of this (sometimes sad) month faraway from Coimbra and from you all... I miss you, guys! If I think that exactly one year ago, the 3rd of october, my erasmus was taking off... Mmm... Que saudadeee!! Now I'm back to the old life... And what a depression! Uff! I must confess it's not so easy to get used to... Everything! ...home, friends, people, nights... routine... Buaaah! I just know that I had a very great time with you in Coimbra! So, thank you again!!

Um abraço, amigos!!

p.s.: I'm waiting for news from all of you...

London | photos

Easter's holidays in London!
Here some pictures...

Panic on the streets of London
Panic on the streets of Birmingham
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again ?
The Leeds side-streets that you slip down
I wonder to myself
Hopes may rise on the Grasmere
But Honey Pie, you’re not safe here
So you run down
To the safety of the town
But there’s panic on the streets of Carlisle
Dublin, Dundee, Humberside
I wonder to myself

Burn down the disco
Hang the blessed dj
Because the music that they constantly play
It says nothing to me about my life
Hang the blessed dj
Because the music they constantly play

On the Leeds side-streets that you slip down
Or provincial towns you jog ’round
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj...

Choose Life.

Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.
Choose your future.
Choose life.

Godetevi Barcelona fino all'ultimo, ragazze!

I wanna give a special huge kiss to Kathrine, Manfredi, Francesco and Gry! Good-bye guys!
Really thanks for the time togheter... I'm going to miss you a lot!!
